2005-09-23 - 8:08 p.m. So I have successfully passed my thirteenth assignment of substituting, and it went, for lack of a better phrase, rather well. I figured it would, but you never know with the way middle school kids are. They are about as unpredictable as a dry wash during the Monsoon season. One moment nothing is happening, and before you know it... Whoosh! Here comes the flash flood! "The tide is high, but I'm holding on!" Heh heh... Ah Blondie! What would the boys of the eighties have done without Deborah Harry? Sorry, that was rather non sequitur of me. Actually, now that I think of it, it's a good segue into what I wanted to say. Last night Cody celebrated his thirty-fourth birthday and we went to FenderSkirts, which used to be his old hangout back in the day, back when he was with his then-girlfriend Debby. It was rather cathartic for him, since that was the place he met her, and he told me that it was different enough that it didn't seem like the same place. Fast forward time and him twelve bourbons later and I'm driving him home and he's leaning out my window shouting "Fuck Debby" to just about anyone on the side of the road. So I called him today after I got off of work, and he was sicker than a dog. I guess he sleppt fine, but as soon as he woke up today... Straight to the toilet! I haven't had a night like that in some time, but he said that he would be my designated driver when it was time for me to celebrate my birthday. I'm just happy that he didn't have to go to work today in that condition. I know I certainly would have felt like shit after such a night. Oh well. What is life if you can't have a little bit of fun? That's all for now. Until next time.
